Links to Artists

Taller Boricua is pleased to announce our first online exhibit for 2021. Beginning on March 17, 2021, an outstanding and diverse collection of art by members from the prestigious and long-standing New York arts organization, NYSWA, New York Society of Women Artists, will be shown. These works commemorate the observance of Women’s History Month. Given the present socio-political and environmental-climate that our world is currently living through, creativity continues to be the driving force that sustains and empowers us to stand our ground and meet tomorrow’s challenges. Using various artistic genres, these artists strongly express ideas for social justice and the struggle for equality through their work.

The 100th Anniversary of their Society’s formation lays down a historical marker to be appreciated and learned from by the forthcoming generation of aspiring women artists. Under Natalie Giugni’s leadership, NYSWA continues forging its important mission. This exhibit demonstrates that the demand for freedom and recognition is as relevant today, one hundred years after the Women’s Suffrage Movement began in the late 19th century in America. Bravo to the New York Society of Women Artists and Bienvenidas a Taller Boricua.

Nitza Tufino, Master Printer and Director of Taller Boricua’s Rafael Tufino Printmaking Workshop.
